We make a range of information available for public access. We can also give people information about some cases if you request it through access arrangements we have in place.
You can also formally request access to documents we hold under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
The information you are seeking might already be available online. Many of our decisions can be accessed free of charge through the AustLII website. We also publish information:
- Access to information and documents in AAT cases
Requests for information or copies of documents relating to some AAT cases can be dealt with without making a formal request under the FOI Act.
- Freedom of information
If you want to, you can make a formal request for access to documents or to amend your personal records under the FOI Act.
- Information Publication Scheme
As required by the FOI Act, we have an Information Publication Scheme entry that provides information on our structure, functions, statutory appointments, annual reports, consultation arrangements, information we routinely release following FOI requests and information we routinely provide to Parliament.
- Privacy
The AAT is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. Detailed information about how we handle personal information is contained in our Privacy Policy.
