What is alternative dispute resolution (ADR)?

We use alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to help parties reach an agreement before a hearing. We will usually hold a conference first, and many cases are resolved without the need for a hearing.

ADR is also used to talk about the issues in dispute and to prepare for a hearing.
