On Monday 14 October 2024, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) will be replaced by a new body called the Administrative Review Tribunal.
The AAT’s online services will not be available from 11.59 PM (AEDT) Friday 11 October 2024. Applications that are lodged online before this time will be automatically transferred to the new Tribunal. You will be able to access the new Tribunal’s online services from 7.00 AM (AEDT) on Monday 14 October 2024. Any incomplete applications that are not submitted online before 11.59 PM (AEDT) Friday 11 October 2024 will be deleted. You can continue to apply for a review by email at any time during the shutdown period.

The Acting President has issued a new Migration and Refugee Division Practice Direction and a revised President’s Direction on prioritising applications in the Migration and Refugee Division.
These directions for the Migration and Refugee Division (MRD) come into effect on Wednesday 1 March 2023 and supersede previous directions.
The new MRD practice direction replaces the COVID-19 Special Measures Practice Direction – Migration and Refugee and the Migration and Refugee Matters Practice Direction.
The MRD Practice Direction has been streamlined and contains our requirements and expectations. The Direction is now in chronological order from lodgement to hearing.
The Presidents Direction – Prioritising applications in the Migration and Refugee Division has been updated with information on how we prioritise our cases that reflects our current operating environment.
